Series and episode overview by Tricia Helfer Fan:
Warehouse 13 is a hit sci-fi/mystery series from Syfy, which follows the adventures of U.S. Secret Service Agents Pete Lattimer (McClintock) and Myka Bering (Kelly) as they track down and retrieve various mysterious “artifacts” with supernatural qualities for a secret government warehouse in barren South Dakota.
In episode “Resonance”, Pete and Myka travel to Chicago to investigate a strange series of bank robberies, only to cross swords with local FBI Agent Bonnie Belski. Despite Belski’s best attempts to shut them out of “her investigation,” Pete and Myka refuse to let go of the case as neither they nor Agent Belski are able to explain how the robbers have already been able to rob three banks at rush hour without drawing a single weapon. Their investigation ultimately leads them on the trail of a strange sound device with which the robbers are able to temporarily incapacitate anyone within a hearing distance of the device.

Tricia Helfer portrays FBI Agent Bonnie Belski, a prickly but levelheaded federal agent who has to let Pete and Myka in on her robbery mystery case when they quickly prove themselves invaluable to the investigation despite her personal hesitations.
“Bering and Latimer. What do you guys want with my robberies?”
“Now that I’m in your face you ask nicely.”
“I made a call. A bad shootout in Denver gets you shipped to D.C., where together you almost lose the President. Then you get exiled off the reservation into my town, humping my leg.”
[Pete: "It's a nice leg."]
[Myka: "Look, we're here to help."]
“I don’t want it. You two have a reputation for leaving disaster in your wake. Your own agency doesn’t even know why you’re here. Stay away from my investigation, enjoy Chicago. Try the pizza.”
“I’ve got some pissed off agents here who wanna take away your scissor privileges.”
“How does someone get invited to your party?”
[Pete: "You don't get invited. You get... shoved."]
Select quotations regarding the show from Tricia Helfer and her co-workers:
On how she got the part of Bonnie and her experience on the show:
“Obviously I’ve been on SCI FI Channel for the past five years and it’s a new show of theirs. It was just wanting to support the network and support a new show that they’re doing. I hadn’t seen it, obviously, because it’s a brand new show, so you’re kind of going off of your trust in their judgment. It’s a fun show. When I was actually up there shooting, I watched the pilot, which was a rough cut. I think they’ve got something really fun there, and it’s kind of got that Moonlighting vibe. The two lead actors do the ‘I love you but I hate you’ thing very well. They’ve got a really good chemistry. And they were lovely to work with. Eddie is a real sweetheart and Joanne was great to work with as well.”

On filming a scene on Warehouse 13 with no sound:
“On Battlestar, many times I was talking to a tennis ball rather than talking to another character, since I was playing multiple characters. So you do get used to it… but you just feel like an idiot! You do end up having to laugh about it, because if you don’t, you just get horrified and everybody leaves the scene thinking they’re the worst actors on the planet, because it’s hard to do those scenes. It’s much easier to work off of somebody or work with the props or work with the sound. Obviously, you’re having to use your imagination so they can be very hard scenes to film — so you have to laugh about it, a little bit. And you do! You end up having some fun and getting the scene done.”
- IGN interview, July 7 2009
On possible future appearances on the show:
“Yeah, absolutely! I might have gone back for one of the later episodes, but timing didn’t work out. So if they did go back to Chicago again, I’d definitely be interested in reprising Bonnie Belski. We’ll see!”
- IGN interview, July 7 2009
Co-star Eddie McClintock on working with Tricia:
“Yeah, it’s pure hell [being stuck between Tricia and Joanne Kelly]. It’s tough. The thing is, I had never seen Battlestar Galactica. I had heard the whisperings about Tricia, so I went to the IMDB and looked her up. I think I was more excited about it than, say, my wife was. [...] She came to set and sat and got to talk to Tricia, and you realize that Tricia is just so smart and married and just a good person. She really is a great lady, and someone that Lynn, my wife, got along with very well.”

• Jane Espenson, the writer and co-creator of Warehouse 13, has also written several episodes for Battlestar Galactica (2003-2009), on which Tricia Helfer was a regular, and was also the co-executive producer of the series’ Season 4. Both shows are original Syfy series.
Warehouse 13 episode 1.02 “Resonance” has not received any awards or nominations.
Personal Thoughts
Sandra: Because of the show’s at first glance silly premise, I didn’t really have high expectations of Warehouse 13, but the show, or at least the one episode I’ve seen, really surprised me with its energy. Even though the show’s concept didn’t quite hit home with me, I was really pleased with its original casting and characters, and “Resonance” definitely showed a lot promise for a fun Sci-Fi/adventure series. Because the show isn’t at all aired in my country, I’m sorry to say I haven’t been able to follow it beyond this one episode, but I was nonetheless happy to see the show’s been renewed for a 2011 third season.
Out of Tricia’s two guest roles in 2009 as a quasi-comedic “special agent”, Warehouse 13‘s Bonnie Belski was imo all around a much better suit for her than Chuck‘s Alex Forrest. Tricia and Eddie McClintock have great chemistry throughout “Resonance”, and Tricia’s portrayal of Belski has sufficient spunk. Overall a good character and episode, and definitely worth checking out. I really hope Belski gets to make at least one reappearance on the show some day.
